Slibinai documentary

The coastal town of Nida hosted "Slibinai" (Dragons), transforming a typical winter weekend into a celebration of cycling culture.

Our team member Linas Mazonas directed, filmed, and edited the mini-documentary about this phenomenal event. Capturing it was no less challenging than the race itself.

"This isn't just a ride - it's a soul-searching expedition," explains the organizer. "When you're cycling along a winter beach with waves crashing on one side and dunes looming on the other, you find out what you're made of."

This year, the format broke new ground by expanding into a full weekend of activities. Beyond the traditional coastal routes of 100km and 60km, a new 70km "Little Dragons" trail offered options for gravel bike enthusiasts. But the real innovation was cultural—evenings filled with cycling stories from the Himalayas, analysis of gravel championships, and sessions with DJs kept the energy high even after rides.

What makes Slibinai unique is its timing. While most cycling events chase good weather, this one deliberately chooses January's harsh conditions. Wind, sleet, and sand become part of the experience, testing riders' determination and creating shared stories.
