AXON by Deri Dako

Dystopian music video made in collaboration with multimedia artist AUJIK.

Lithuanian producer DERI DAKO has released his dystopian album Plantago Major. The release is accompanied by a music video for the track Axon, which was made in collaboration with multimedia artist AUJIK. AUJIK is an art concept initiated in 2001 by the award-winning (Prix Ars Electronica, Japan Media Arts Festival, Animago 2016, Screengrab) artist Stefan Larsson, who was born in Sweden and lives and works in Ōtsu, Japan.

The release comes with a transformative, animated video that shows nature taking back from humanity’s building. The LP is an ode to the broadleaf plantain that is used as a traditional medical treatment of wounds and diseases. Plantago Major explores destruction and regeneration, transformation, and growth over its 13 tracks.

For centuries, the leaves of Plantago Major have been used in most regions of the world in traditional medical treatment of wounds and diseases. Plantago Major grows in lawns and fields, along roadsides, and in other areas that have been disturbed by humans. It does particularly well in compacted or disturbed soils.

The album explores the concept of transformation - from injury to regeneration. From pain to pleasure from destruction to growth. Process which is essential to any living organism.
